HOW TO JOIN

Our organization is co-chartered with the College Democrats of America and the Florida Young Democrats. The College Democrats is an official student organization at the University of Miami, an in accordance to University policy, membership to the College Democrats is open to all University of Miami students, including law students, graduate students, and medical students. Associate memberships are available to the faculty and staff of the University of Miami, and spouses of members.  Honorary members are inducted with the full confidence of the executive board and 85% consensus of the general membership.

Membership to the Dade County Young Democrats  is available to all registered Democrats between the ages of 17 and 40 (inclusive). You do not have to be affiliated with the University of Miami to join the Dade County Young Democrats.

Other than these state and University imposed standards, we have no special requirements to become a membership of the University of Miami College Democrats / Dade County Young Democrats. We strongly believe that membership status should be determined only by interest in politics, not wealth, therefore we have no application fees. As always, all of our meetings are free and open to the public, even to those that do not fit the state or University's membership requirements, and we encourage everyone interested in learning more about a grassroots political movement to join us.

We are providing a simple no-rejection application to those interested in membership. With this application, we can better coordinate and organize our members. To receive a special recognition certificate, our constitution requires that you become a member by attending three meetings in a semester.

We strongly encourage everyone to show up to our meetings to learn more about us.
